Introduction
The Institute of Nuclear Sciences has developed a wide range of projects related to outreach to industry and society: for the lookout of talent, for the provision of scientific-technological services, and the development of technological innovation projects. Likewise, the academics of this institute participate in research projects that provide results and services with high-added value and potential for linkage with other sectors.
The objective of the Secretary is to maximize the use of ICN’s knowledge, human resources, and cutting-edge technology and transfer them to society through the production of innovations that can be converted into marketable processes and products, the development of scientific-technological services and the interaction and exchange of knowledge and skills with other UNAM entities and academic institutions.
Objetivo general
Establish programs, strategies, agreements, and interaction models that encourage the development of technological innovation projects side-by-side, through the linkage with productive, academic, and social sectors.
Functions
- Design business plans for the management and administrative control of outreach projects.
- Facilitate the realization of agreements, to support the negotiation, integration, and formalization of agreements for the transfer of technology and knowledge generated by the academic community of the ICN.
- Follow up on the projects transferred to the productive sector through compliance with the agreements acquired in the signed agreements.
- Elaborate catalogs of products and services for the dissemination in identified sectors.
- Elaborate valuation instruments that support the definition of appropriate models and schemes for the different knowledge transfer projects accordingly to the linkage sector and the funding sources.
- Provide technical and administrative advice for the drafting and presentation of patent applications in the Intellectual Property Offices.
- Assist ICN academic personnel in the conceptualization of products and services that enhance the absorption capacity of technology and knowledge by identified sectors.
- Facilitate the linkage of the ICN academic departments with UNAM entities, other universities, and research centers, both domestic and foreign.
- Collaborate with public and private entities to address and discuss emerging issues within the scope of the ICN.
