Department Description

OBJECTIVES:

To understand and describe fundamental matter structures and their interactions at low energies. This includes hadrons, mesons, atomic nuclei, atoms, molecules, photons, and the interactions between them and external fields. The experimental research conducted within the department is focused on quantum optics, applied optics and nuclear structure.

RESEARCH LINES:

  • Quantum models of many-body systems based on symmetries
  • Nonlinear and quantum Optics, quantum information.
  • Applied optics, including optical tweezers and cavitation.
  • Complex systems: intelligent algorithms, quantum chaos.
  • Time series on physical and biological systems.
  • Structure and dynamics of:
    1. Hadrons: effective models in quantum chromodynamics and the structure of the nucleon
    2. Nuclei: nuclear structure, nuclear clusters, supersymmetry, radioactive beams, nuclear masses, double beta decay
    3. Atoms: two-level systems, atoms in cavities
    4. Molecules: high-resolution spectra, collisions, behavior in high-intensity magnetic fields, colloidal stability
