Loop Gravity and Spin Foams: topological and quantum geometrical aspects

Recently, a simple covariant description of the dynamics of Loop Gravity has been identified (Spin Foams) and contact with classical General Relativity is now available. I will review the present status of this research program, highlighting the developments of the last 4 years, the current open problems, and the possible phenomenological implications.
