Modifying the gravity: successes and failures

Attempts to modify the gravitational interaction represent a hot topic in modern theoretical physics research. If successful, they can both resolve some of the long-standing problems, and give hopes for new unexplored physics. However, it is very often that the price for a proposed modification is too high, and a new dynamical mode renders the model unviable. In this talk, we will review a few recent proposals with their successes and failures. In particular, we will discuss the Mimetic Dark Matter, a bimetric variational principle for the metric-affine approach, and dRGT massive gravity.
