Double well potential: Perturbation Theory, WKB, Tunneling

The quartic oscillator, H = - d^2/dx^2 + m^2 x^2 + g x^4, (m^2>0 - anharmonic oscillator, m^2<0 - double well) is one of the most important problems of quantum mechanics, which appears in different physical sciences. A simple method which combines the perturbation theory, WKB approximation and a feature of tunneling in their appropriate domains of applicability is proposed. The lowest eigenvalues found in this method provides 9 - 11 significant digits for any -20 < m^2 < 20. The presented method is more accurate conceptually than the instanton calculus.
