Ergosphere of the Born-Infeld black hole

Resumen: We introduce the Born-Infeld (BI) black hole that is a nonlinear electromagnetic generalization of the Reissner-Nordstrom (RN) solution of the Einstein-Maxwell equations. The differences between BI and RN are significative only in the neighborhood of the horizon. The effective potential for a charged test particle in the field of the BI black hole presents, for certain values of the parameters, negative energy states defining an effective ergosphere, and opening the possibility of energy extraction.
