The role of neutron stars in the era of gravitational wave astronomy
Néstor Ortiz (Perimeter)
RESUMEN: Gravitational wave astronomy is starting to enlighten our understanding of Nature in the highly-dynamical and strong-field regimes of gravity. In this context, I will review (i) ongoing efforts to infer new physics from neutron stars---in particular the state of matter in the extreme conditions of their cores---; and (ii) possibilities of using neutron star phenomenology in order to constrain alternative theories of gravity.
