Critical collapse and the dual frame formalism

RESUMEN: Numerical relativity (NR) is a tool for understanding extreme spacetimes. For example close to the threshold of black hole formation solutions of general relativity, highly relevant to the cosmic censorship conjectures, are approachable only numerically. In my talk I will give an introduction to NR, discuss the state-of-the-art in treating these critical spacetimes, and finally explain a new formalism for their treatment by an optimal gauge choice.
